AUDITIONS DETAILS:
Optional Audition Workshop: May 2nd, 4:15pm -6:00pm - FREE!
Workshop will be held in the dance studio.
Mandatory Parent Meeting: May 7th, 5:30 pm
Director, Parents and students will go over the Company Handbook and have the to opportunity to ask questions about the dance program and the audition process.
AUDITIONS: May 8th& 9th4:15pm – 7pm
Auditions will take place in the Fine Arts Center. Those auditioning will be ranked by a panel of local dance professionals for their execution of the following:
Audition Guidelines
You must have a completed application and parent permission to participate. All application material must be received by the day of the Auditions May 8th& 9th.

Optional Audition Workshop: May 2nd, 4:15pm -6:00pm - FREE!
Workshop will be held in the dance studio.
- Parent Permission is required.
- Workshop will focus on helping students become more comfortable with the audition process. Dancers will be exposed to different styles of dance and techniques to complete a successful audition.
- Workshops are notmandatory but are designed to introduce students to the various styles performed by the company.
- Students may bring their Company applications for review and advice.
- Workshops are open to all El Paso area middle and high schools students.

Auditions will take place in the Fine Arts Center. Those auditioning will be ranked by a panel of local dance professionals for their execution of the following:
- Ballet Combinations: Adagio including extensions and port de bras, petite allegro, turns, balances on releve and grand allegro. *If you dance on pointe you are strongly encouraged to do so for the audition.
- Contemporary Combinations: Spine and Floor work, tilts, spirals, recovery, fall and rebound, jumps, turns and directional changes, improvisation.
- 1 Minute Solo in any style of dancethat best shows your abilities (You may or may not be asked to perform your solo).

Audition Guidelines
You must have a completed application and parent permission to participate. All application material must be received by the day of the Auditions May 8th& 9th.
- Registration will begin promptly at 4:15pm each day.
- Water and snacks are acceptable but must be eaten in the foyer or the hallway.
- Attire:
- Ladies please wear solid colored leotard, pink tights that can be rolled up and ballet slippers, fitted dance shorts or skirts are acceptable.
- Gentlemen please wear a solid colored t-shirt, dance pants, shorts or tights, dance belt and dance shoes.
- Hair must be pulled back completely in a bun, secure and off the face.
- No jewelry.
- No warm-ups or sweats are permitted. It is suggested students wear convertible tights to be barefoot for the contemporary portion.
- Ballet slippers are required for the ballet component.
- Pointe: If you have had at least three years of pointe at an advanced level and feel comfortable wearing pointe shoes for the entire ballet portion of the audition, you are encouraged to do so.
- Contemporary: Students must remove shoes for the contemporary component.
- Students unable to attend auditions in person may submit a video audition to [email protected]. Video should include a short introduction where the dancer states their name followed by ballet combinations, contemporary combinations and a 1 minute solo. Video should not exceed 5 minutes in length.

*Students interested in taking dance do not have to audition if registering for dance I,II, III or IV. Dance classes are year long courses and must be taken in level order.
